Founders & Leadership
Carolina Vazquez Mitchell, MS
Carolina is a chemist, food scientist, and pharmacologist with 20 years of R&D experience spanning chemistry, pharmacology, food technology, and the cannabis industry. Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, she earned her MS in Chemistry at the University of Southern California and conducted CRISPR research reviewed by a Nobel Prize-winning chemist.
Carolina has developed hundreds of products for global brands across food, beverages, supplements, and cosmetics. She was the Founder and Chief Scientist of Ciencia Labs, a Los Angeles-based cannabis product house acquired by The Cannabist Company in 2024. Her expertise encompasses formulation, molecular composition, human metabolism, cGMP, HACCP, and FDA/USDA compliance.

Benjamin Mitchell, JD
Benjamin co-founded KitChem and Ciencia Labs with Carolina, bringing entrepreneurial leadership, operational expertise, and strategic vision. At Ciencia Labs, he scaled the company to a cash flow positive portfolio of cannabis brands, culminating in the 2024 acquisition by The Cannabist Company.
Previously, Benjamin led sales at Sine, a SaaS company acquired by Honeywell, and founded music and entertainment ventures serving clients including Fox, NBC, and Steve Aoki. At KitChem, Benjamin oversees operations, client partnerships, and ensures that processes, strategy, and execution align with the scientific rigor Carolina brings to product development.
